Stealth Writer

1Overview

Stealth Writer ("we", "our", "us", "the App") is an AI content detection application that helps users check whether text or an image was created by a human or generated by AI, and includes a text-rewriting ("humanize") feature. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store and protect information when you use the App on Android or iOS.

By downloading, installing or using Stealth Writer, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use the App.

2Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the App's core features — account access, usage limits, and AI detection/rewriting functionality.

2.1 Account Information

To use certain features (saving your subscription status, syncing daily usage limits, and account management) you create an account using email and password via Firebase Authentication. Currently, only Gmail (@gmail.com) addresses are accepted for registration and login.

• Email address
• Password (stored securely and encrypted by Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your plain-text password)

2.2 Usage & Subscription Data

• Number of AI-detection checks performed per day (to enforce free-plan limits)
• Subscription/purchase status (Free or Pro) synced via Google Play Billing
• App configuration data such as word limits and daily-check limits, fetched from our server (Firebase Firestore)

3Device ID & Registration Limits

To prevent abuse of free-plan limits (e.g. one person creating many free accounts on the same phone), the App reads a non-resettable device identifier:

• Android: Android ID — a value generated by the Android operating system, unique to your device.
• iOS: Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) — Apple's device identifier scoped to apps from our developer account.

This identifier is hashed/stored against a registration counter on our server (Firebase Firestore) to limit how many accounts can be created from a single device. It is not used for advertising, tracking across other apps, or building an advertising profile of you.

4Text, Files & Images

4.1 Text You Submit for Detection or Rewriting

When you paste or type text and tap "Check" (AI Detection) or "Humanize" (Rewrite), that text is sent securely over HTTPS to our third-party detection/rewriting providers (see Section 5) solely to generate a result for you. We do not manually read or review the content you submit.

4.2 Uploaded Documents (PDF / DOC / DOCX)

If you upload a PDF or Word document to extract text, the file itself is processed locally on your device — text extraction happens entirely on-device and the original document file is never uploaded to our servers or any third party. Only the extracted plain text (if you proceed to run a check) is sent for detection or rewriting, exactly as described in Section 4.1.

4.3 Images You Submit for AI Image Detection

The App also lets you check a photo or image to see how likely it is AI generated. When you choose an image from your gallery or take a photo, it is first compressed on your device, then uploaded securely over HTTPS to our image-detection backend for analysis. The image is used only to generate your AI detection score and is automatically deleted from our server immediately after the check completes — we do not keep a permanent copy of your images on our servers.

A copy of the image and its result is saved in your Image Detector history so you can review past checks. This copy is stored locally on your device, as described in Section 7, and is removed if you clear your history or uninstall the App.

4.4 Detection & Humanize History

Results of your text checks (text snippet, AI/Human score, word count, date) and image checks (image, AI/Human score, date) are saved as history for your convenience. See Section 7 for where this is stored.

5Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party service providers to deliver core App functionality. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

6Subscriptions & Billing

Pro subscriptions are purchased and managed entirely through Google Play Billing (Android) or the App Store (iOS, where applicable). We do not collect or store your payment card details — these are handled directly by Google/Apple. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status (active/inactive) to unlock Pro features in the App.

To manage or cancel your subscription, please visit your Google Play or App Store account settings, or use the "Manage Subscription" option inside the App.

7Local Storage on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device using on-device storage (Hive database and Shared Preferences). This data is not automatically uploaded to our servers:

• Your AI-detection history (text snippets, scores, dates)
• Your humanize/rewrite history
• Your image detection history (a local copy of checked images, AI/Human scores, dates)
• Daily usage counters and cached app settings
• Onboarding completion status

Uninstalling the App permanently deletes this locally stored history from your device.

8How We Use Your Information

• To create and authenticate your account
• To provide AI-detection and text-rewriting results
• To enforce free-plan usage limits (daily checks, word limits) and unlock Pro features
• To prevent abuse of free-tier limits via device-based registration checks
• To send password-reset emails when you request them
• To maintain, troubleshoot and improve the App's functionality

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

9Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share data:

• With the third-party service providers listed in Section 5, strictly to deliver App functionality
• If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or the App
• In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data

10Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all network requests, Firebase Authentication for secure credential handling, and access-controlled cloud storage (Firestore). However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11Data Retention

• Account data (email) is retained until you delete your account.
• Device registration records are retained to enforce free-plan abuse limits.
• Local history (on your device) is retained until you clear it in-app or uninstall the App.
• Text submitted for detection/rewriting is processed by our third-party providers to generate a result and is not knowingly retained by us beyond what is needed to return that result to you.
• Images submitted for AI image detection are deleted from our server immediately after the check completes; the only lasting copy is the one saved locally on your device in your Image Detector history.

12Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing (this may limit App functionality)
• Clear your local history at any time from within the App

To exercise any of these rights, email us at onlineplagiarismremover@gmail.com with your registered email address. We will respond and act on verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.

13Children's Privacy

Stealth Writer is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your country's law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

14International Users

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located in countries other than your own (including via Google Firebase's global infrastructure and our API providers). By using the App, you consent to this transfer, storage and processing of your data.

15Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
